Max von Sydow joins the cast of GAME OF THRONES

Veteran actor Max von Sydow has joined the cast of Game of Thrones.

Sydow will debut in Season 6 and will be playing the Three-Eyed Raven, replacing actor Struan Rodger who briefly appeared in the role in the Season 4 finale. The role is described as small but highly important, similar to Ian McShane's recent casting.

Sydow is famous for numerous roles, including The Exorcist, Flash Gordon, Dune, Never Say Never Again, Judge Dredd and Minority Report. He will next be seen in the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, in December.

L-O-V-E von Sydow! His delivery of the legal summary at the end of "Snow Falling on Cedars" is classic. I actually just watched him in a forgotten classic of the 70's, "Three Days of the Condor." He is a great choice for GoT.

Let's hope they do a better job of portraying Bloodraven this time. The other guy was just a typical old wizard in a robe. Where was the albino skin? The tree entwined in flesh? The raven birthmark?!
